There are hosts of other activities to choose from, with the Offa's Dyke passing nearby (and many other local paths) for walkers, the river wye for canoeing and kayaking, The Forest of Dean for mountain bike and cycling, and horse riding and pony trekking also available. Oh, did we mention the fishing and shooting?
This area has been known to discerning golfers for many years, with the magnificent Rolls of Monmouth on our doorstep, and Celtic Manor (home of the 2010 Ryder Cup), St. Pierre at Chepstow, The Monmouthshire, and many more superb golf courses nearby, it is a great place for a week of golfing adventure.

The Four Castles Cycle Route (Skenfrith, Grosmont, Abergavenny and White Castle) almost passes the door, or try our own shorter (and easier) version of just three of the castles.
The Forest of Dean and Symonds Yat are reknown for their cycle paths and mountain biking tracks, and there and many less strenuous options near by.
The River Monnow and River Wye are both only a short drive away and are popular for fishing and canoeing.
